Walmart already closed the October Event inbound. The next date on the same page is not a soft target.
Inventory for Walmart's Annual Event has to arrive at a WFS fulfillment center by September 15. That is six days from today.
What happened (confirmed)
Walmart Marketplace's holiday logistics checklist and WFS overview still publish the same two receive-bys:
• Arrive by September 1 for the October Event (that window is closed)
• Arrive by September 15 for the Annual Event
Arrive means received into the network. Not left a 3PL. Not sitting on a dock waiting for an appointment. Work production, transit, and receiving backward from September 15.

The rest of that checklist only matters if the unit is actually in network. Walmart is still pointing sellers at Customer Favorites, WFS conversion of high-volume SKUs, Cross Border Imports booking, Multichannel Solutions, and Inventory Transfer Services. WFS still advertises zero peak-season storage fees and no fuel surcharge, with fulfillment rates that average 15% less than other marketplace fulfillment providers (Walmart first-party data on the WFS overview).
Walmart also says sellers using WFS see 50% GMV growth, on average, for items with the Fulfilled by Walmart tag and delivery promises of two days or less (Walmart first-party data, 6/30/24–6/30/25 on the WFS overview).
Why this matters
The Annual Event is the holiday merchandising block most Walmart operators care about after October. If your units miss September 15, you can still sell seller-fulfilled. You lose the WFS badge, the two-day promise, and the conversion lift Walmart keeps citing when traffic spikes.
Amazon operators already burned the Prime Big Deal Days deal window on September 8. Minimal-split FBA inbound for Big Deal Days was September 9. Amazon-optimized splits still have until September 16. Two networks, one inventory pool, and the Walmart clock is the one that closes first this week.
Who it affects most
• Brands that missed September 1 and still have no open WFS inbound for Annual Event SKUs
• Teams treating September 15 as "mid-September" instead of a receive-by
• Anyone buying Walmart Connect into listings that will not be WFS-badged when the Annual Event traffic lands
• Multichannel operators still deciding Amazon vs Walmart allocation while Amazon-optimized Big Deal Days inbound and Walmart Annual Event inbound collide this week
• Finance models that booked Q4 Walmart holiday revenue without a WFS receive date attached
What sellers should do this week
1. Pull every open WFS shipment. If it cannot physically arrive by September 15, stop labeling it Annual Event inventory and rebuild the plan around what can still clear receiving.
2. Rank Walmart SKUs by last-90-day GMV, conversion, and Buy Box. The September 15 inbound is for those SKUs, not the whole catalog.
3. Confirm appointments, pallet compliance, and ASN status on anything still rolling. A late truck with a rejected pallet is a missed event.
4. Turn Connect off or down on listings that will not be WFS-badged for the Annual Event. Do not buy traffic into a fulfillment miss.
5. Put Amazon's September 16 optimized-split Big Deal Days inbound on the same board. One inventory meeting, both calendars.
Our take
Walmart put September 15 on the WFS homepage next to the October Event date. We already told you September 1 was real. This one is too.
The operators who win the Annual Event are the ones whose units are already moving. Everyone else has six days. Treat it like a receive-by, not another soft reminder.
Annual Event inventory still not in the network? CoreTrex will kill the fantasy inbound, rebuild the September 15 plan around the SKUs that actually convert, and keep Connect on listings that can keep the promise. Talk to a strategist.
