Amazon Optimized Inbound Hits Sept 16

Amazon already closed the easy inbound path. The one most sellers actually use still has five days.

FBA shipments with Amazon-optimized shipment splits have to arrive by September 16 for Prime Big Deal Days Prime-badge eligibility. That is the option Amazon says most sellers select.

What happened (confirmed)

Amazon's Seller Central holiday readiness post still lists three Prime Big Deal Days receive-bys:

• September 2: AWD shipments (closed)

• September 9: FBA with "minimal shipment splits" (closed)

• September 16: FBA with "Amazon-optimized shipment splits" (still open)

Arrive means received into Amazon's network. Not labeled. Not on a truck. Not sitting for an appointment.

Deal submissions for Prime Big Deal Days closed September 8 on that same post. Peak fulfillment fees still run October 15, 2026 through January 14, 2027, averaging about $0.32 more per unit over non-peak rates, with the 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge on top. Amazon also notes that AWD with automatic replenishment to FBA keeps off-peak monthly storage rates through October 31, 2026.

Why this matters

If you chose optimized splits to avoid inbound placement fees, you traded earlier deadlines for a later one. That later one is now Wednesday. Miss it and you can still sell into the event window, but you risk losing the Prime badge Amazon tied to these arrival dates.

Walmart's Annual Event WFS receive-by is September 15. Two networks. One inventory pool. Two clocks that land on consecutive days.

Who it affects most

• Sellers who picked Amazon-optimized splits and still have open FBA inbound for Big Deal Days SKUs

• Brands that treated September 16 as "sometime next week" instead of a receive-by

• Teams that already missed September 9 minimal splits and are counting on this last lane

• Multichannel operators balancing Walmart Annual Event inbound on the 15th against Amazon optimized inbound on the 16th

• Anyone buying Sponsored Products into ASINs that will not be Prime-badged when Big Deal Days traffic hits

What sellers should do this week

1. Open every FBA shipping plan still labeled for Big Deal Days. Confirm the split option. If it is optimized, the receive-by is September 16.

2. Rank ASINs by last-90-day GMV, conversion, and Buy Box. Protect those units first. Do not burn the last five days on the long tail.

3. Confirm carrier appointments, carton compliance, and tracking that can still clear receiving. A late truck with a rejected shipment is a missed badge.

4. Cut or pause ads on listings that will miss Prime eligibility for the event. Do not buy traffic into a fulfillment miss.

5. Put Walmart's September 15 Annual Event receive-by on the same board. One inventory meeting. Both calendars.

Our take

Amazon already told you the September 16 date months ago. Most sellers picked the later lane on purpose. That lane is now five days from closing.

The operators who show up for Big Deal Days are the ones whose units are already rolling. Everyone else has until Wednesday.

Optimized inbound still not moving? CoreTrex will rebuild the September 16 plan around the ASINs that actually convert, kill the fantasy shipments, and keep ads on listings that can keep the Prime promise. Talk to a strategist.
