Amazon Just Put Walmart Inside Seller Central

Amazon Seller Central multichannel selling tools for Walmart, Shopify, TikTok, and eBay

Amazon just invited Walmart, TikTok, Shopify, and eBay into Seller Central. Same dashboard. Same login. Your other channels show up next to your Amazon orders.

That is not a sidebar widget. It is Amazon saying Seller Central should run the whole business, not only the Amazon store.

What happened (confirmed)

At Amazon Accelerate in Seattle on September 24, Amazon announced Multichannel Selling Tools inside Seller Central for U.S. sellers. At launch, sellers can connect eBay, Shopify, TikTok, and Walmart accounts, import and link off-Amazon listings, view multichannel sales and orders in one place, and fulfill across channels from Seller Central. The rollout is gradual over the coming months, at no additional cost.

Amazon says more than 95% of independent sellers in its store already sell across multiple channels. Independent sellers account for more than 60% of sales in Amazon's store. The company also said sellers created more than 12 million sales-ready listings with generative AI tools in 2025, and it wants that listing workflow to reach other channels later.

What is live now is connect, import/link, see orders, and fulfill. Coming later: edit a description once and push it to every connected channel with channel-specific formatting, AI-generated listings for other platforms, and a profitability view that pulls ad spend, traffic, and sales across channels.

Amazon also said Multi-Channel Fulfillment sellers in the U.S. can now offer Prime delivery on their own sites at no additional cost, plus a pricing program it claims can cut MCF fulfillment fees by 15% to 25% for the first six months. Sellers do not have to use Amazon fulfillment to use the new multichannel tools.

On data, Amazon's Mary Beth Westmoreland, VP of Worldwide Selling Partner Experience, told GeekWire that multichannel data surfaced in Seller Central is only shown to that seller and is not used for other purposes. Amazon's post says sellers choose what to connect, can disconnect anytime, and that access controls keep outside data from other sellers and from Amazon retail decisions.

Why this matters

Shopify already has Marketplace Connect pointing the other direction. Amazon just answered with Seller Central as the control plane. For operators already on Amazon plus Walmart or TikTok, the pitch is real: fewer logins, one unshipped-orders screen, and a faster path to Amazon fulfillment on off-Amazon demand.

The risk is also real. You are wiring competitive channel data into the platform that already owns most of your catalog visibility, Buy Box pressure, and ad auction. Amazon's assurances are stronger than a footer disclaimer, but the FTC case and past seller-data fights are why smart operators treat "we never use this" as a policy statement, not a physical lock.

Who it affects most

• Amazon-first brands that also sell on Walmart, TikTok Shop, Shopify, or eBay and hate tab sprawl

• Teams already using Multi-Channel Fulfillment, Veeqo, or Buy with Prime who want one order queue

• Operators comparing paid multichannel tools (Rithum, Linnworks, and peers) against a free Amazon-native option

• Walmart and TikTok sellers who keep Amazon as the inventory and ops backbone

• Anyone whose channel strategy depends on keeping Amazon blind to off-Amazon pricing, promo, and sell-through

What sellers should do this week

1. Check whether Multichannel Selling Tools appear under Settings in Seller Central. If they do not, you are still waiting on the gradual U.S. rollout. Do not rebuild your stack until you can see the page.

2. Decide your data boundary before you connect anything. Price history, promo calendars, and Walmart/TikTok sell-through may be more sensitive than order IDs. Connect the channel you can afford to instrument first, not every login on day one.

3. If you will try it, start with order visibility and fulfillment routing. Leave bulk listing sync and AI cross-channel copy for later when Amazon ships those pieces.

4. Reconcile MCF and Buy with Prime math against your Walmart and Shopify promises. Free Prime on your own site is useful. Blindly routing Walmart orders through Amazon fulfillment can break marketplace SLAs and margin.

5. Keep an independent source of truth for channel P&L. Amazon's future profitability dashboard will be convenient. It should not be the only spreadsheet your finance team trusts.

Our take

Amazon is not trying to be nice to Walmart. It is trying to become the operating system for sellers who refuse to be Amazon-only. That helps operators who are drowning in dashboards. It also deepens Amazon's grip on the workbench where assortment, inventory, and increasingly ads get decided.

Use the tool if it cuts real labor. Do not confuse convenience with neutrality.

Multichannel only works when the stack and the margin both clear. CoreTrex will map which channels belong in Seller Central, which stay separate, and how MCF or WFS should carry the order before Q4 volume hits. Talk to a strategist.
